Call for Special Sessions

Prospective Organizers of Special Sessions at EUSIPCO 2015 are invited to submit their proposals (proposal template available in DOC and PDF) no later than December 10th, 2014, by e-mail to both the special sessions chairs:

  • Marco Carli, marco [dot] carli [at] uniroma3 [dot] it, University of Roma TRE

  • Thierry Dutoit, thierry [dot] dutoit [at] umons [dot] ac [dot] be, University of Mons

  • Jean-Yves Tourneret, jean-yves [dot] tourneret [at] enseeiht [dot] fr, University of Toulouse

Decisions about the special session proposals will be sent to the authors before Monday, December 29.

Special Session proposals at EUSIPCO 2015 should address topics in emerging signal processing areas which are not covered in the regular sessions. The proposals will be judged by:

  • quality and timeliness;

  • ability to bring together key researchers contributing to the state-of-the-art in the area;

  • ability to introduce the area to the larger signal processing community;

  • help establishing a larger research community on an emerging area.

Special session proposals covering multi-disciplinary areas are particularly encouraged.

Special Sessions will be intermixed with regular sessions during the conference. Each Special Session will be one hour and forty minutes long, typically consisting of 5 oral presentations. Other formats may be possible, including one longer (forty minute) presentation and three shorter (twenty minute) presentations.

Each paper of the Special Session will be submitted according to the regular submission deadlines, and be subject to peer reviewing. It is the Organizer’s role to invite (and ensure to have) the speakers, select the reviewers, manage the review process (with the same deadline and review system as the regular papers) and, in consultation with the program committee, make accept/reject decisions. It is possible that some invited papers may be rejected. However, this is expected to be a rare case since the Organizer should recruit only high-quality papers to the Special Session. The Organizer will chair the session.

The Organizer and the speakers will be required to register and to attend the conference. Registration fees will not be waived and there will be no honoraria available.

A maximum of three Organizers per Special Session is allowed.
